In fact, there is an estimated 18.5 million board seats. That is larger than the entire population of many U.S. states. Almost eight million board positions are for small/grassroots size nonprofits with boards of five or six members. Take into account that many people sit on more than one board. There are actually fewer individuals than there are board seats. 

You make a difference!

You have certain responsibilities to uphold on a board. One of them that often gets overlooked is that of Board Ambassador. 

Waving the flag for your nonprofit and the cause it is treating/preventing/eliminating is a role that you need to take seriously. 

It’s easier than you think and it starts with you becoming a board member who reads their materials, participates in meetings, and helps the organization be a part of the larger whole of society.
